Cary Barbor is a New York City-based writer whose work has appeared in Shape, Salon, Health, Prevention, Tennis, Fitness and many other national magazines. She has been a staff editor at More magazine, WeightWatchers.com and ReadersDigestHealth.com, among others.  Her specialty as a journalist is health, fitness and nutrition.

Cary’s short story We Don’t Wear Shoes in the Ashram was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and her personal essays have been published in Backpacker and AMC Outdoors.
